Literacy | 1 hour Session

Literacy (Grade 1-8)

Our literacy sessions follow the Orton-Gillingham approach which is an evidence based approach that is rooted in science. It is an industry led approach for remediating dyslexia and provides students with explicit instruction with a scope and sequence individualized to each student’s needs. Students will learn the English language through a teacher-led inquiry based instruction leading them to understand the interrelationships between the English language sound system (phonology), written system (orthography) and word history (etymology). Sessions also incorporate grammar where students learn the parts of speech and parts of a sentence.

We also offer literacy sessions to students up to grade 8 who do not have a diagnosis but who are behind in reading, writing and grammar skills.

Multisensory Math (Grades 1-8)

Math sessions are conducted using a targeted approach based on the learning style of the student. Prior to the tutoring sessions, each student will receive a learning style assessment which will determine the approach used for every tutoring session.
