Sarah Reid

As a mom of a dyslexic child, Sarah is very familiar with the stress and anxiety that comes with advocating for accessible and equal education. Committed to making education accessible for her son and ensuring he has the same equal opportunities, she went back to school to receive training in reading and spelling intervention for dyslexic learners. Upon completing her dyslexia training certification in 2016 from the Dyslexia Training Institute, she began working with Carp area students. Inspired to do more for local students struggling with literacy, Sarah opened the Centre in 2019, specializing in English and math and is pleased to be giving back to her local community. In 2021, she completed all coursework and 100 supervised practicum hours for Associate level certification with the Association of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE) under Liisa Freure, Training Fellow of the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA). Following that, she completed the Latin for Orthographers Spellinar with the late Michel Rameau of Real Spelling in addition to the Multi-Sensory Grammar and Structure Word Inquiry courses with Liisa. Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Psychology from Carleton University and a Business Diploma in Marketing from Centennial College. Sarah continues to stay relevant and on top of research through Liisa, industry leaders and academia. The Carp Village is home to Sarah who loves the supportive and friendly community. In her free time, you will find her either at home in the garden, travelling, or with family and friends.
